- What this is
- Ride alert texts for drivers, tied to the ride board on a RideFinder territory site. Each alert is a courtesy notice that a matching ride post exists. This program carries no marketing messages.
- Who receives messages
- Registered drivers who gave consent for their own phone number, on a territory site they subscribe to. Riders are never sent SMS on this program.
- How consent is given
- Two ways: checking a consent box in the driver's RideFinder account, or texting the keyword JOIN and replying YES to confirm. Both are shown below.
- How consent is revoked
- Unchecking the same box in account settings, or replying STOP to any alert text. Both take effect immediately.
- Driver texts JOIN to the RideFinder ride alerts number.
- RideFinder replies:
Clark Champ, Sole Proprietor: Reply YES to confirm ride alert texts for YosemiteRides.com. Msg&data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.
- Driver replies YES.
- RideFinder replies:
Clark Champ, Sole Proprietor: You're confirmed for ride alerts on YosemiteRides.com, up to 5 msgs/day. Msg&data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.
- Ride alert texts begin. None are sent before the YES.
- Sender
- Every message identifies the sender as Clark Champ, Sole Proprietor.
- Frequency
- Up to 5, 10, or 25 messages per day, depending on the territory site and the driver's selected plan. A driver on a free territory site is capped at 5 per day by default.
- Cost
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Opt out
- Reply STOP to any message to cancel at any time.
- Help
- Reply HELP for help.
- Not required
- Consent is not required to create a RideFinder account. Nothing about creating an account, posting, or browsing requires it.
SMS Ride Alerts: Opt-In and Consent
Clark Champ, Sole Proprietor operates RideFinder, a ride and haul bulletin board with territory websites such as YosemiteRides.com. Registered drivers can turn on text message ride alerts for the territory sites they subscribe to. This page is a public reference for that consent step. The step itself lives inside a driver account and only appears after sign-in, so it is shown here as a fixed illustration.
Program at a glance
The consent step, as a registered driver sees it
The mobile number field and the consent checkbox below are reproduced from the driver's RideFinder account, where they appear on the signup form and again in account settings for each subscribed territory site. This is an illustration, not a live form. The real step is part of a signed-in account, so every field here is fixed and cannot be typed into or submitted.

By checking this box, I agree to receive automated SMS ride alert texts from Clark Champ, Sole Proprietor at the mobile number I provided, for YosemiteRides.com. Message frequency varies based on my selected daily plan. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel at any time, or HELP for help. View our SMS Terms and Privacy Policy. Consent is not required to create an account.
This button does not submit anything on this page.
YosemiteRides.com is shown here as the example territory site. The live checkbox names whichever RideFinder site the driver is subscribed to, and account settings shows one checkbox per subscribed site.
Opting in by text
A driver can also start the same consent process from a phone, without signing in first. This path always takes two steps, and nothing is sent until the second one.
A driver who texts JOIN and never replies YES gets no alerts and is treated as opted out. Replying STOP at any point in this flow cancels it immediately.
Required disclosures
Recordkeeping: every opt-in, confirmation, and opt-out is logged with a timestamp, the method used, and the phone number, independent of anything the carrier retains on its own side.
